The Beastie Boys have been described as “The Beatles of hip hop” and brought a multiple array of styles and samples into this genre of music. Formed in 1979 by Mike D, Ad-Rock and MCA, they have released era defining tracks like (You Gotta) Fight For Your Right To Party, Sabotage and No Sleep till Brooklyn. I remember seeing them in 1997 at the T in the Park festival in Scotland with each rapper effortlessly switching between several instruments whilst keeping the rapping going. They were dressed in blue boiler sets and yellow hard hats.

This 17 minute video is a tribute to Adam Yauch (MCA) who died of cancer on May 4th 2012.
