Origin of Cool: The Netherlands

As a citizen of the Dutch city of Eindhoven, I have to mention this beautiful piece of street art, or as the Dutch people would say ‘graffiti’. PSV Eindhoven football team is one of the best teams in the Dutch League and former home of international superstars like Ronaldo, Van Nistelrooy and Robben. Did you know that the Philips Stadium is located right in the middle of the city centre? Anyway, Dutchman Maarten Claassen created this 55m long street art story about the national championships victory five years ago. He was also responsible for the illustrations and the composition.

Als inwoner van Eindhoven kan ik hier niet langer omheen. Ter herinnering aan het gewonnen kampioenschap 2006-2007 heeft Maarten Claassen deze prachtige street art (voor de Vlaamse lezers: grafietie) illustratie gemaakt. In 55 meter wordt het verhaal van het kampioenschap vertelt. Maarten was verantwoordelijk voor zowel illustratie, verhaal als compositie. Het zou een prachtig idee zijn als de hele geschiedenis van deze topclub in street art gehuld zou kunnen worden. Een project voor op de oude Philips site, plaats genoeg toch?
