Darth Vader Dunny

Origin of Cool: Ireland

You may be familiar with the expression “Munny” (a blank doll the owner can decorate using pens, pencils, markers or paints). It was created by Paul Budnitz and Tristan Eaton, and produced by Kidrobot from 2004.

Well a ”Dunny” is a type of vinyl designer toy that can be customized in a broad variety of styles by diverse artists. Polish artist Michal Miszta has created a Darth Vader Dunny measuring in at just three inches.

In Michal’s words, “The helmet was sculpted with epoxy putty and carefully sanded, polished and painted with three layers of super gloss varnish. At first I painted blue and white highlights with brushes to simulate reflections, but the effect wasn’t satisfying. I cleaned it and spray painted with flat black the whole figure and varnished only his helmet, belt and boots. The cape is made of melted plastic painted black and light saber made of plastic rod painted with Sharpie.”
