Infrared Photography By Richard Mosse

Origin of Cool: Democratic Republic of the Congo

Photographer Richard Mosse here uses a discontinued military surveillance technology called Kodak Aerochrome – a type of film with infrared capabilities. His series of photos entitled Infra transforms the green tones of the foliage to to variations of red, crimson, lavender, and hot pink. In doing this, he gives the viewer a new artistic perspective on the jungle war zone.
