Koloro Desk: Create Your Own Miniature Room

Origin of Cool: Japan

Esperanto was an attempt at creating a universal language allowing people around the world to communicate easily. Japanese firm Torafu Architects have used this as the basis for an inspirational creation.

Their Koloro desk is made to look like a doll’s house, with little windows in the walls and a pendent lamp inside. ‘Koloro’ is also an Esperanto word meaning color. The concept for their ichiro-iro series is that of ‘tools for the real you’, where ‘iro’ is the Esperanto word for ‘tool’. Torafu describe the Koloro desk as a place to ‘nest’ at ease.
