Mad Men Street Art In New York

Origin of Cool: USA

For Mad Men fans, March 25th 2012 is a crucial date. On that day the fifth season of the popular AMC series will air in the United States. For those of you who have never heard of Mad Men, the series is about an advertising company on Madison Avenue in ’60s New York. A cocktail of sex, alcohol, awesome fashion and intrigue is served every week and became a real cultural phenomenon.

As we get closer to the launch of the new season, more and more ads appear in the streets. But something cool happened in the New York subway recently. The minimal Mad Men posters of a falling Don Draper were pimped by street artists. Believe me, I’m a big fan of minimal art, but these remakes are even better than the original.

The first image is the original poster.
