Magic Feet: Inductive Charging Hub By Mobee

Origin of Cool: Switzerland

You may not have seen or heard about Swiss company Mobee’s ‘Magic Charger (for charging an Apple Magic Mouse) or ‘Magic Bar‘ (for charging an Apple Wireless Keyboard/Trackpad) before. They are clever, space-saving ways of charging your Apple accessories. They are nicely designed to look like they could have been designed by Apple themselves. I have to say my ‘Magic Charger’ certainly fits quite nicely with my iMac. But it looks like Mobee have recently had the same idea as me; why not combine the ‘Magic Charger’ and the ‘Magic Bar’ together?

The combination has resulted in the latest in the ‘Magic’ series; the ‘Magic Feet’. The ‘Magic Feet’ is a green charging solution that lies at the bottom of the Apple product of your choice, ready to charge the combination of your Mouse and Keyboard, or your Mouse and Trackpad. It will charge these inductively (completely free of wires), but with the added bonus of 4 USB ports, which is great for someone like me who has USB accessories left, right and centre.

Installing a ‘Magic’ product is very easy; all you have to do is replace the batteries in your Keyboard/Trackpad/Mouse with Mobee’s replacement rechargeable pack, plug in the “Magic Feet” via USB and you’re good to go. Charging from empty takes 6 hours and each device will last up to 10 days. If you’re itching to get one, the ‘Magic Feet’ is available to pre-order until its full release on April 15th 2012.
