Polish Poster Art

Origin of Cool: Poland

I must admit that I’m a bit surprised about the coolness of these Polish posters. Cool and Poland in one sentence is not everyday news, but this website, really kicks ass here. Eye Sea specializes in collecting Polish vintage posters from the sixties and seventies and sells them online. The website too deserves a mention, very clear and catching the eye of the visitor right away with a poster database on their homepage. It’s easy browsing through different categories.

The most talented and respected artists were given fully creative freedom by the Polish communist government to create these objects. Because of their artistic status they could ignore standards in making (film) posters and that resulted in these cult designs.

We want to hear and see more about the coolness of Poland. There must be more, a lot more. If you’ve spotted any, let us know!
