PowerPoint: Short Film About A Guy Addicted To PowerPoint
Origin of Cool: USA
Having just survived my second SXSW, one thing that was different from the first one was the number of films I saw. From the best music documentary I have ever seen (LCD Soundsystem’s Shut Up And Play The Hits), to an interesting documentary about wildlife in New York (The Central Park Effect) and finally a touching documentary about trash collectors in Austin (Trash Dance). I realized that there was more to cinema than the increasingly predictable mainstream Hollywood releases.
Keller Davis is a film director from Austin, Texas. He took part in a 24-hour film contest that spawned a short film about a guy addicted to Microsoft PowerPoint. As the YouTube synopsis reads:
“Obsession can strangle even the best of us. For Christopher, that one thing is Microsoft Powerpoint… because slides speak so much louder than words.”
