PowerPoint: Short Film About A Guy Addicted To PowerPoint

Origin of Cool: USA

Having just survived my second SXSW, one thing that was different from the first one was the number of films I saw. From the best music documentary I have ever seen (LCD Soundsystem’s Shut Up And Play The Hits), to an interesting documentary about wildlife in New York (The Central Park Effect) and finally a touching documentary about trash collectors in Austin (Trash Dance). I realized that there was more to cinema than the increasingly predictable mainstream Hollywood releases.

Keller Davis
is a film director from Austin, Texas. He took part in a 24-hour film contest that spawned a short film about a guy addicted to Microsoft PowerPoint. As the YouTube synopsis reads:

“Obsession can strangle even the best of us. For Christopher, that one thing is Microsoft Powerpoint… because slides speak so much louder than words.”

Please let us know what you think about this in the comments and feel free to check out more of Keller’s work here: http://vimeo.com/kellerdavisfilm
