REM Island
A former artificial broadcasting island in the North Sea was completely dismantled in 2006. Nick van Loon and Hilly Engels came up with a plan to save the island and reuse almost the complete infrastructure to host a restaurant in it. This restaurant is now located in the lake ‘Het IJ’ and has an overwhelming view on one of the oldest harbours in Amsterdam.
REM Eiland can be found here: Haparandadam 45-2 1013AK Amsterdam
