Oxford Landing Advertising Campaign

Origin of Cool: London, England

Oxford Landing approached Transport For London earlier this year with an unusual proposition. The Australian wine brand wanted to transform the tired, depressing interior of Oxford Circus tube station in to a tranquil vineyard. They would also cleverly re-name the station, ‘Oxford Landing’.

The brand’s agency, KWP! Adelaide, included a new station logo, real vines at the tube entrances and a soil effect on the floor.

It wasn’t meant to be however. Talks between the brand and TFL fell through and the campaign was shelved.

What disappoints Origin of Cool is that this was a great opportunity to inject some badly needed colour into an often overly grey city. This could have been one of the coolest things in recent years, but it wasn’t meant to be.
